Spontaneous, sporty, gamine...this is the side of Chanel herself - not necessarily her designs - that I find hugely inspiring. No matter what she wore her own brand of chic was effortless. She knew that she didn't possess the standard of beauty that was in fashion during her time, so she perfected a personal style that was boyish and adorable - like a girl who borrowed her boyfriend's clothes and wore them well.
