Love this painting and over the moon with this dress in my latest collection! Black linen, perfect for Indian summer and easily layered for later on in winter.
Built entirely from scratch through draping; I didn't use muslin beforehand for this one because the linen is crisp enough to hold shape so I sculpted the dress right off in the linen. (I never pre-cut out shapes or use flat patterns beforehand when I do this, btw - just two big squares of fabric pinned onto the dress form and awaaaay we goooooo.) While draping I always give attention to bust, waist and hip lines to ensure that the garment hangs impeccably and fits right in all areas. Very happy with this one and it looks just as I intended, so up in the shop it goes.
